About Japanese internment camps..Japanese permanent resident aliens who were interned at Justice Department camps would received compensation. Their German and Italian counterparts, however, received nothing. According to Immigration and Naturalization Service statistics, nearly half of all enemy aliens held in Justice Department internment camps were of European ancestry. The fact is there was much large scale espionage on the west coast by first and second Japanese residents. For my part I do believe the United States has cared about others for humanitarian reasons. From what I've read, it seems like only American and British troops have ever been approached for rations by people from nations they have conquered. The other armies they ran from like a scalded dog.
