Jim, you might want to add "wounds received in combat against the enemy." A certain Lieutenant in my ancestor's regiment fought a duel/gunfight against his captain. The Lieutenant was wounded and the Captain killed. The Lieutenant took French Leave but was promptly captured. He was tried and believe it or not, exonerated of all charges. After the war he tried to get a pension for his injury...he was told you had to be injured in combat fighting the enemy not fighting your own officers.
