One of our 2nd grade classes has one with a Confederate and Union soldier with both the US and the Battle Flag in the background. It's on their board in the hall. I'm surprised it's stayed up as long as it has. Another praises the Buffalo Soldiers. I've taken every chance I get to explain just what they were s'posed to do. The kids, bless their little hearts, thought they were formed to kill buffalo to furnish meat for the Army.
