Re: Dog River Arsenal????
The late Confederate historian and collector William Albaugh used the term Dog River to loosly cover confederate swords that were unmarked and unknown as to who made them. In his book Confederate Swords published originally in 1963 is the following quote "Many unmarked swords have surfaced in recent years that are, as yet unidentified but whose characteristics and appearance proclaim Southern heritage. These specimans are all possible products of the mysterious Dog River Factory which manufactured edged weapons for the Confedracy. No new data on this firm or it's products has emerged." In the last 48 years collectors have used the term Dog River to describe Confederate swords unknown as to origin and maker.
