I wonder why the Confederates became so defensive with the Virginia after the Battle and never sent her out again? Was her draft the problem that she had such limited room to manuver? As you said they both were slow and heavy to manuver.

Or do you think that the Confederates were just afraid to lose the Virginia that they did not commit her to battle again?
