The fact that the Hunley was found only 100 yards away from the Housantonic wreak site is something I have never heard before and never mentioned in any presentation that I have heard or read. The only point that I have heard was that the Hunley was found 4 miles from Sullivans Island further out to sea than the Housantonic. It is the absence of such information which lead to wrong conclusions.
I am firmly convienced that any information about events of that war have been so corrupted over time that there is no way we can ever know the truth about any of it.
