I'm not looking for a specific unit's flag. My interest is in the influence of the Scottish rebellions and the influence on Southern culture. Many Jacobites that were taken prisoner in the 1740s were exiled to America. Many ended up in the wilderness of what is now the States of Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. My post from January... {The "Bonnie Blue Flag" originated in the West Florida Republic in 1810. The colors "Bonnie Blue" and white correspond with the national colors of Scotland. But this maybe just a coincidence-- or not--- since a great many Americans and Natives Americans living in the Mississippi Territory, who made up the Republic of West Florida, where of Scots/Irish descent. The 1745 Jacobite Rebels wore Bonnie Blue Bonnets with white cockades.}

Now, by the Civil War, it maybe that any blue battleflag would be referenced as a "Bonnie Blue Flag", especially if it were of the Scottish blue version.

The song about Dundee matches with this culture, especially when a favorite Confederate song came from a favorite Scottish rebel tune.
