Today, I sat and watched as a company named "Search" who had been hired from the University of Kentucky, from my understanding was digging for artifacts on government property at part of the site of the Battle of Richmond, Kentucky in August 1862.

Students and archaeologists from the University will then be appearing in a few days to search through the mounds of dirt with their screens. So perhaps in the near future we might hear of some of their finds due to the digging of this date.

The archaeologists are also looking for Indian burial sites as well as early white settlements.
