Re: artifacts and the Battle of Richmond Kentucky

I found a lost or abandon cemetery in Arkansas about two years ago. The burials date are from 1831 until 1864, on what few marked stones I've found so far. The little cemetery about fifty graves sits on a small hill dropping down to a small branch and some springs. I had a feeling it was also a civil war site. it was a camp of the 10th Illinois US Cavalry. It looks like the cemetery suffered major damage during the war. Lost cavalry artifacts and dropped carbine bullets everywhere, but just below the crest of the hill was a belt of fired confederate round balls, every caliber from .28 buck shot up to .69 round musket balls. The belt of fired round balls made about a half circle around the Union camp. Some of the fired Union bullets were found across the branch and starting up an opposing hill. Every artifact has been marked with flags and so have the grave sites. I have preserved most of the artifacts, but still a work in progress. All the artifacts have been donated to the 180 year church that owns the property. I have permission to display them from time to time, but I use a power point program on the site most of the time, much easier to work with it that way. All known gravesites at this time are GPS. An archeologist and I will map the site in a few weeks. The medal detective work here has given a clear picture of what went on at this civil war and pioneer site. An archeological dig will be made on a visitors gazebo site before being built. The gazebo will have a map and history of the site when finished.
