Thanks, Alan. I assume the M935 microfilm is in the NARA collection? Have you seen information on other hospitals in those records? I understand that a lot of the Confederate Medical Department records were burned when Richmond fell.

You are right that I have name, date, and location information. I'm trying to answer some tougher questions, such as when he was conscripted, how he was there, whether he was attached to a particular unit other than just the hospital, and why he was assigned as a nurse when he was a physician and more logically might have been commissioned an assistant surgeon.
