PVT Elisha (Elihu) THOMAS, Co. G, 27th SC Infantry, was captured at Weldon RR, VA on 21 Aug 1864, sent to Point Lookout, MD, and exchanged at Aikens Landing, VA on 14 Mar 1865. (Kirkland, Randolph W., Jr., DARK HOURS: SOUTH CAROLINA SOLDIERS, SAILORS AND CITIZENS HELD IN U.S. PRISONS 1861-1965, (Charleston: 2002), p. 453). Don't know how he got home.

PVT Ediphus (Eliphus) THOMAS, Co. A, 1st Bn. SC Sharpshooters, died of disease at Georgetown, SC, 11 Aug 1863. (Kirkland, Randolph W., Jr., BROKEN FORTUNES: SOUTH CAROLINA DEAD IN CSA SERVICE 1861-1865, (Charleston: 1995), p. 344.) Chances are it was either dysentery or typhoid, two of the biggest killers in the war.

PVT Enoch THOMAS, Co. H, 1st (Hagood's) SC Infantry, died of disease at home in Spartanburg District, SC, 4 Aug 1862. (Kirkland, BROKEN FORTUNES, p.344).

CPL Simpson THOMAS, Co. A, SC Holcombe Legion Infantry, was killed in action at Hatcher's Run, VA on 29 Mar 1865. (Kirkland, BROKEN FORTUNES, p. 345).

John Franklin THOMAS is not listed in either of the above references.
