You should definately consult Chris Ferguson's new book on Hollywood interments, since he has identified a substantial number of men who are listed on Hollywoods records as unknowns, or whose names were badly garbled when recorded. There is an on-going effort to identify as many of the unknowns in Oakwood as possible. You certainly should check with them. There are also some Confederate burials at Shockhoe Hill Cemetery in downtown Richmond, but they were for the most part men who were from Richmond or who had strong Richmond connections.
