I am trying to research information on the most likely uniform(s) & equipment of the 16th SC Volunteer Infantry. I've been to the museum in Greenville and looked through the archives of this board. I'm happy to do my own work if pointed in the right direction but if somebody else already has done it I'd be appreciative of any information I can find. My GGG Uncle, William N. Rose, fought with the 16th and was killed at Franklin, TN. His records indicate that he held ranks of Private, Seargent, and Field and Staff Adjutant 1st Lt., and that he owned a horse that he had with him during the war. I live in upstate NY so am possibly at something of a disadvantage (in more ways than one) and have been participating in re-enactment events up here for the past year. Suggestions of possible sources of information gladly received.
