The Relic Room web site was another I visited last night before posting here. Their web site seems geared more toward guiding folks to visit the museum. There's very little in the way of images or ways to do research. Since Columbia is about 1000 miles from where I live it'll be a while before I'll be likely to be able to get there. It would seem a lot to ask to request the type of information I'm seeking. Do you know if this is a service that they offer if I contacted them?

A perusal of the images on the roster pages of the 16th SC web site was a bit of help as some of the men pictured there are wearing uniforms and there were even a few lieutenants, all with differing uniforms, not at all unexpected. But most of them are only bust shots and the resolution is so coarse it's tough to make out details.
