I was reading about the regiment my ancestors were in. The 3rd TN Mounted Infantry U.S.A. Anyway in Company D, the Captain,James L. Pearson was shot and killed by his 2nd, Lieutenant James M. Giles. Not sure if this was during an heated argument or if they were involved in a duel. However I would like to know if anyone else has any stories of any other officers in either the TN Union or TN Confederate forces involed in duels.
