Lookout Mojuntain

I am trying to ascertain if any CSA prisoners were ever released or exchanged at Lookout Mountain, TN. I have been told that this never took place.

My grandfather, Adolphus D. Waldrop, (Pierce) stated that he was released from there. He was born, according to family records, in 1849 and died in 1937 and captured after the Battle of Mobile. He is believed to have been in CO G, 42nd Alabama Infantry, Talladega County.

I realize that this would have made him a young teenager, but this is the information that I have. He enlisted under his sister's married name of Pierce. I do not know his sister or brother-in-law's given names, or his parents names.

He survived two wives and fathered 13 children after settling in MS.

Any informtion that you can give would be greatly appreciated since the youngest of the surviving 12 was my mother and she died in 1991.
