Re: General Order on the Death of Col. Heiman

Danny, I thought this was a great find since it is not in the published "Official Records." I found it in a Southern wartime newspaper dating from immediately after Col. Heiman's death. At this point I have not found anything elese relating to this, but am always looking through wartime newspapers for information relating to the Confederate units I am researching, i.e., all the units raised in the Jackson Purchase counties of Kentucky (E & F of 1st KY Inf., A & D of 2d KY Inf, 3rd KY Inf, 7th KY Inf., D of 8th KY Inf., 12th KY Cav., C of 33rd TN Inf., and a host of Independent KY units) and the 50th TN Inf. Was the 50th TN Inf. in Heiman's brigade at the time of his death? What is your field of research?
Thanks
Greg
