You may have already seen this; however, here's a reference to the skirmish at Germantown, TN; April 18, 1865.

April 18, 1865.

11th New York Cavalry.

While a patrol of 18 men under Lieut. John H. Mills was passing
out of Germantown it was attacked by a Confederate force of
between 60 and 100 men. The enemy waited until the patrol was
within 100 yards and then charged, the Federals losing 6
killed, 2 wounded and 7 missing, before they reached Germantown
again.
