This report is interesting. My grandfathers brothers and cousins were with Crosslands brigade until the end of the war. They were involved in the confrontations mentioned within this report of the 11th Cavalry NY. They embarked from West Point but never could assemble the full strength of their command enroute. Estimates on the amount of troops is apparently high and they had a tough time alligning with Forrest for the Wilson Raid and the last battle of the war for the command of Forrest. A very interesting report.
