Alan :
I never read too much about the transfer to Scotts Brigade.
To my understanding the unit was under Thompson ( Thompson KIA) and Crossland also under Buford as the commander of 3rd in the 2nd or third Brigade. They were under Crossland at the raid of Wilson and the last battle of the war. This may not be correct so if you can, let me know how to find out about Scott ( rank, who did he replace and when if possible). Maybe Scott had the brigade prior to their transfer March 10, 1864. Buford came with them at that time and was given a brigade. I do not remember Scott but my memory has failed me before. They were called the Kentucky Brigade and to my understanding their leaders were from Kentucky except for Lyon.
