Joe --

Glad to help!

With Tyler in command at West Point, we may be satisfied that it was a Confederate military post of no small importance. Remember that militia would have reported to state authorities in a dual chain of command.

The collection mentioned is titled, Inspection Reports and Related Records Received by the Inspection Branch in the Confederate Adjutant and Inspector General's Office, NARA microcopy M935. Any public library or a local family life center (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) should be able to acquire microfilm through their lending programs. It's not easy to search, but if you find something -- and I expect you will -- it's going to be worth your time and effort.
