Re: Confederate enlistments at Missionary Ridge

Thanks very much.

On a related question, my ancestor enlisted 11/15/63 at Missionary Ridge in the 154th Senior Infantry Regiment (Tennessee) and was killed sometime between Dec. 31, 1863 and February 29, 1864. It would be great if I could find out how and where he died. I read that there was a small action at Rocky Face, Ga. which is in the area where I live, so possibly he died there. The service record only says "killed since last muster" on the muster roll, dated Feb. 29, '64. I was wondering if the Confederate military kept separate records of soldiers killed with details that may not be on the service record.

I probably need to order the records available through this site and also visit the state archives of Tenn. and Ga. to see if this information is available somewhere + visit some of the cemeteries here that I haven't seen yet to try and find a grave
