State archives might have that info for you. I am thinking that if you could find the morning reports for that regiment or better yet for his company if you can find that out you might find what you are looking for. Many of the morning reports for Union Regiments and Companies are kept at the Army War College at Carlise, PA. I don't know if any confederate records are there also. ONe other thing, many of the Confederate records were destroyed toward the end of hostilities and also after the war. So best wishes for success in your search.
