Hi Nancy
I may be the guy you are referring to. I am with the 8th Tennessee Co. C. I think we talked on Memorial Day. I am not a related but at the time I thought he may be from Tennessee. I have also found the Census records you referred to. I was trying to find proof of him serving during the Civil War so the S.C.V. could re-mark his grave. The marker is just about no longer readable and as you probably know if we could prove it they would up date the stone. I have talked to the Clinton Historical Society and no luck there. You have already found more on him then they have. They did steer me in the right direction to get started and are interested in finding more on him also. Below is what I have found on him so far and any added information is greatly appreciated.

Bunker B Bell
Died in Clinton County Iowa on May 03, 1869. He is buried in Oakland Cemetery in Clinton County in Lot 15 Block 3. There is a Family head stone that is no longer readable as of 2008. The American Legion has placed a bronze marker next to it indicating is a Confederate soldier (State of Iowa, Grave Registration chart A-1).

Investigation:
A search of Census records finds Bunker B Bell on the 1850 Federal Census in Preston Virginia District 45 at the age of 4 born about 1846. His father is Andrew Jackson Bell age 26 with mother Elizabeth age 27 and a brother John W Bell age 6. Andrew J Bell is listed as a Chair maker. By September 21, 1857 the family has moved to Minnesota, Hennepin County and are listed on the 1849-1905 Minnesota and Territorial State Census. Andrew J Bell is listed as a Land Agent. Bunker B Bell (Misspelled as Banker) age 7. The 1860 Federal Census has the Bell family moved to Red Wing, Goodhue County Minnesota. Andrew J Bell is now listed as a “Miller”. Bunker B is age 14 and John W. is age 16 and B.F. Bell age 5. Andrew Jackson Bell dies November 23, 1913 in the town of Warsaw, Rice County Minnesota. The inscription Index of Minnesota indicates he was born February 12, 1834 and is buried in the Warsaw Cemetery. His spouse is Elizabeth Willard Patterson.

NOTE:
The LDS church has a Pedigree on Andrew and Elizabeth that indicates they were not married until July 09, 1860 Warsaw, Rice County Minnesota.

NOTE:
There is a child buried next to Bunker named Frankie in Clinton County, Oakland Cemetery.

Terry
