He would possibly have two compiled service record entries, which would be on National Archives microfilm, and you'd just have to see what your local library might have. The first would be in Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in Organizations from the State of Georgia, M-266, which would likely have his service record from the 7th Georgia or whatever regiment it was before he was wounded and mustered out. The second would be M-331 Compiled Service Records of Confederate General and Staff Officers and Nonregimental Enlisted Men, which would have his service record as a staff officer--to the extent there would be one.
