44th Consolidated TN, Co K.

My husband's ggg-grandfather was 2nd Lt. John Allen Dollins of TN. Found his military record showing that he resigned his commission on April 18, 1863, but can find no further records. According to my research, he would have fallen under the Confederate Conscription Act of 1862 and thus been able to legally resign and go home. Does anyone know if there is any record of those that fell under this exemption? Trying to get my husband into SCV under this ancestor and they are wanting proof of his honorable discharge.

Also trying to find where he and his wife, Elizabeth Dallius Jones Dollins are buried. Thought they were buried here in Orange Co., FL, but not so sure now, after searching all the local cemeteries. They were originally from Fayetteville, TN and owned land there prior to the war, sold it shortly thereafter and moved to Illinois with relatives and then to Florida. There's a possibility they may have gone back to TN just before they died. Any info is appreciated!

John A. Dollins father was Hugh Alexander Dollins, son of Presley Dollins, RS of VA, his son was also Hugh A. (Armstrong?) Dollins, who is buried here in Orange Co., FL.
