The answer is, we do not know where he was following his resignation, most likely at home, there is a 15 month span between his resignation and the muster which records the date of his resignation.

John A. Dollins, Company K, 44th Consolidated Tennessee Infantry, "Appears on a Roster of the 44th Regiment of Tennessee Volunteers; originally in Wood's Brigade to July, 1862, when transferred to Johnson's Brigade.

Roster dated July 1864 [Note - This is July 1864]

[there is no other data found on this card]

According to a War Department memo, ca June 1909, only one muster roll for the 44th Consolidated Tennessee Infantry was found, that being for the period November - December 1864 period,
