Cincinnati Daily Enquirer--9/10/1861
All is quite at Paducah. Yesterday we heard that a man from Paducah named Charley Satell was hung at Union City on Wednesday. He came through from Louisville by railroad and had no pass through Union City. He and Colonel Morgan, the Inspector, had a dispute, when he immediately shot the Colonel, killing him instantly. He attempted his own life, but was taken and hung. He was a fine talented young man; was engaged as book keeper for Watts, Given & Co in Paducah.
