Morgan Brothers
In Response To: Re: Morgan Brothers ()

The "Satell" spelling is probably an error. Other accounts give the man's name as Little or Littell. There's no record of a Little in Paducah. I'm now looking for a Littell there. Records elsewhere show a Charles O. Littell born in Kentucky in 1837, living and marrying in Henderson County, Kentucky, in 1860. The woman he married in 1860 married a different man in 1866. That's consistent with Littell having died in 1861 after killing John S. Morgan in Union City. One account says Morgan was a major and provost marshal. Another gives his rank as colonel. "Tennesseans in the Civil War" has no John S. Morgan and has no John Morgan with no middle initial and holding the rank of colonel or major.
