Thanks Kenneth,

I had hoped the local paper would have had an article about the shooting. Its not every day(or was it) that a federal guard detail would open fire on unarmed prisoners of war. Perhaps the green line soldiers were afraid of a mass uprising,a sacking of Terre Haute and eventual triumphal march on Washington and winning the war. Most likely a horse spooked and they spooked.
