I know Topton. Some of my Radford, Horton, Garrett and Woody relatives have lived around there. About Mr. Gregory, all I know is that he was a staunch unionist and killed by Confederate partisans...of which his son is supposed to be one. I have seen his grave at the Primitive Baptist Church there. I don't really know much more about Cades Cove but I have heard that they made some fine moonshine in those parts. I had relatives with Thomas' Legion. I also had ancestors that would shoot any of the Legion, any chance they got.
