Re: WAUL'S TX LEGION AND OTHER TX UNITS AT CORINTH

You may find some more information in the book on the 2nd Texas Vol. Infantry. The author in 1993 was living in Houston and was teaching at a college there. The Second Texas Infantry was at the battles in question and lost several good men at corinth. Col. Robertson was kill in front of the redout wearing a brestplate. But they don't stop cannon balls. There are even pictures taken after the battle of the men and of Col Robertson. The railroad there cut off supplies to Menphis, Tenn. and th eConfederates had to pull out of the town. It fell to the yankees without a shot being fired there. Anyway the book maybe out of print and no in any local source that you may be able to visit. Contact me and I will give you the authors name and other info on the book.

Your obedient servant,
Bert Hile
