Re: Houston Daily Telegraph (Jenkins Ferry casuali

Casualties for the 28th Texas Cavalry (dismounted) at Jenkins' Ferry appeared in the 16 May 1864 issue of the Houston Daily Telegraph. This information is also in my history of the 28th Texas (PECULIAR HONOR).

As for the other units, my recollection is that they do not appear in just one issue of the Houston Daily Telegraph--in fact, you may have to look at other newspapers to pick up lists for all (or nearly all) of the units.

A helpful article is:
Barr, Alwyn. "Texan Losses in the Red River Campaign, 1864." TEXAS MILITARY HISTORY vol. 3 (summer 1963): pages 103-110.

Alwyn Barr looked at casualty lists in Texas newspapers to compile his listing of casualties in Texas units during the Red River campaign. As I recall, he has a separate table for Jenkins' Ferry and lists dates and newspapers that he collected his information from. You should be able to request the article via interlibrary loan from your local public library or a university library.
