Dr. Dye treated a J. H. Martin of the 8th (12th) Texas Infantry. Dye's entry states: " J. H. Martin, 8th Texas, Co. F. Ball entered the back part of the right thigh at the middle of the lower third and passed out opposite the knee joint on the inner side. Recovered slowly."

I hope that helps. Do you have any information on his post-war history. I would love to know what happened to him after the war.
