Company F of the 19th Texas Infantry was supposed to have been raised in Marion County, Texas so I don't see why it would be called the "Bowie Grays". I wish this person had been specific about the sources that connect the "Bowie Grays" to the 19th Texas Infantry. As far as I know, Bowie County furnished four cavalry companies to the Confederate Army but no infantry companies. That may be why this individual who was disabled for cavalry service joined a company from Marion County. If the "Bowie Grays" entered the Confederate Army, I believe it would have been one of the four cavalry units from Bowie County.
