Re: Hardeman's Texas Cavalry Regiment

Dr Kimmel,

It looks like Thomas Reid has put you on the right trail . One thing to look out for as your do your search is that there were two Hardeman's ( Peter and W.P ) who both served in and commanded Texas cavalry regiments. I thought for the longest time that they were either father and son or at least brothers. Doesn't look as if either is the case. It's no big deal , however, it is very easy to get confused with the two Hardemans riding around through history. In fact, for a period of time they served together in the First Cavalry Regiment of the Arizona Brigade ( Texas in the War; Wright, edit. Simpson , Hill Junior College Press, 1965, (first edit) . W.P Hardeman's ( "old Gotch") GGGrandson ,Lyman Hardeman , editor of the Lone Star Junction( editor@lsjunction.com) probably knows as much or more about the comings and goings of both Hardemans as anyone . I have not seen him ( Lyman) being very active on the Lone Star Junction site in a while . I hope he is well and perhaps just very busy. Anyone have a "read" on that ?
Good Hunting , Craig
