Thanks for your response. I did find out there are two Hardemans; evidently, they were cousins.

The only thing I have to go on in my ancestor's CSA pension application was he said he was in "Company F, Hardeman's Regular Texas Cavalry" from 1862-1865.

Somewhat confusing also is his widow and her application, in which she said all she knew was he was a lieutenant in a unit organized by "Captain Ferrell." This may be significant also, as Captain Ferrell did indeed organize troops in the Fayette Co., Texas, area where my ancestor was from. However, if this is indeed the case, that would put him in with Terry's Texas Rangers.

So, the saga continues!
