Would appreciate the e-mail picture if it's not too much trouble. Been some years since I was down that way (Sabine Pass)...about 35 or 40 if memory serves me right. I'm old enough to remember when Granger's Sea Food was THE place for folks in the Port Arthur area to go for good eats. The only markers, as such, that I remember related to the battle was a bronze statue of Dowling (think he had a torch in his hand???) and a pink granite marker that was placed during the 1936 centennial era.
