My ancestors, the Cajuns, called it 'la guerre des confederes', the Confederate's war. Many of them considered it a foreign matter, even though it was fought all around them; indeed many still refer to non-Cajuns as 'les americains'!

The renovations were finished earlier this year, I think. I just hope the hurricane didn't make them redundant.
