The park at Sabine has been re-worked extensively. It's very nice out there and there are a lot of markers. I don't know what it's like now with the hurricane damage, though. The cemetary has many graves of heros from the war and lots of markers as well.

There are about one or two places to eat there. You can tell there were many restaurants at one time because of the old run-down buildings with faded signs. The Sportsman's Paradise gas station at the four-way intersection has THE best boudin I've ever tried though. Every time I go down there, whether to fish, hunt ducks, or on a 'historical expedition', I always stop by to get some of that delicious boudin.
