Bill, thanks for the information. I had obtained my information about his attacking from microfilm copies of his application for a Confederate Scrip Grant and from the members of his unit acting as witnesses. Maybe they thought it would sound more impressive if he was wounded while charging down the river bank rather than sitting in place. Anyway, thanks again for the references.
