Some Lovelace researchers have told me that William Ray Lovelace served in the 19th Cav Regt of Tx. However I know that he was listed in the 1860 census in Chambers Co AL. and although The Soldiers and Sailors system seems to be down at the moment, I think there was a "W.R. Lovelace" in the 8th Confederate Cavalry Co K. Co. K was raised in West Point Ga which is right on the state line. On the Alabama side is Chambers Co.
Is it possible that William Ray Lovelace may have transfered from the 8th Confederate Cavalry to the 19th Texas Calvary?
