Yes Sir, I knew the bare bones of the scrape. We had been told growing up that Rugeley and his group got into a bit of a row with a Colonel Hesseltine of the 13th Maine Infantry. It seems that one of our particularly vicious Blue Northers blew in during the scrap, and swamped what must have been some pretty sorry boats that Our Boys were in. Those that did not drown froze to death. I lived on the Coast in that area for many years, worked cattle all over this site, swam cattle to and from the Island in season, and have experienced some of these. I was hoping that someone might have a book or something with an account of this scrap.
