Ms. Rard, thank you so much for the information, I lived in that part of Texas for many years, worked cattle all over that Matagorda country, swam cattle back and forth to the Island, and etc., and never knew all of this history. My Grandmother was a direct descendant of that group, never talked much about them. Thank you again, I have printed it out and will make it available to my grandchildren, I think half the folks that fought in the Confederacy were kin.
