My GG Grandfather was shown by records to have been in Co I 25th Texas Calvary.
The family lived in Liberty Co TX area.

He died at the hospital Feb 1865, Hempstead Tx. The VA recently provided us

with a headstone which (due to no records located as to his exact burial location) will

be placed at the foot of his widow.

I am looking to see if anyone would know what the uniform might look like for that
unit and if they had a specific flag.

Also any suggestion for flowers that we can put on the grave. There will be a
dedication service provided, with period dress etc. I'm new to this and interested
as to making it as nice as possible, yet appropriate for a long lost civil war solider.
