My 3rd Great Grand Uncle, John Myers McKinney entered service as a 1st Lieut. in Co. B, 16th Texas Cavarly in Feb. 1862. He was elected Captain in March 1862. That is all the information I have found for his service to the Confederacy. I have census records from 1850 through 1900, so know that he survived the war. I would appreciate any additional information regarding his military service. I know the 16th Cavalry was dismounted (have seen a couple of different years - 1862 and 1864). Thanks for the help.
