As you say Mortimer W. Bradley was captured in 2/12/63 and was paroled on 1 Apr 1863 at City Point Virginia, but there are no more records on him in his file. He either stayed with another unit or went home.
James Lockert Johnson enlisted in May 1861. No other records are in his file. But for some reason I have that he was a POW on 30 Dec 1862. This would have made him a wounded POW from Iuka, Corinth or Hatchie Bridge. Or he was wounded in one of the battles that were part of the Holly Springs Raid from 15 Dec to 27 Dec 1862. These were Holly Springs MS, Davis Mills MS, Mansville TN or several minor skirmishes during the raid. I looked high and low but no records.
Silvaman Texas Hilliard of the 10th Texas Cavalry was killed at a Battle of Stones River, Murfreesboro, TN 31 Dec 1862. The 3rd Texas Was not at this battle, but was back at Granada, MS recovering from the hard but successful Holly Springs Raid.
The lack of records for James Lockert Johnson bother me, as does the info in my files that he died a POW which should be in his records. Will keep working on this puzzle.
