He was granted a medical furlough [at the Convalescent Camp at Little Rock] of 50 days to visit his home in ________ county, Texas, January 20, 1863, no further records, this information recorded on his companies Jan/Feb, 1863 muster roll. There is no surviving muster roll for the period Mar/Apr, 1863. Inasmuch as he is not recorded on the subsequent bi-monthly muster roll of May/June, 1863, we can assume he was dropped from the rolls on the missing muster roll

One would believe then, that he died at home in Texas or while en-route.
