Well........the missing Mar/Apr muster roll would tell the tale, but maybe not.
I'm just really wondering if he actually made it home on furlough, or not.
I was hoping that somewhere would exist a compiled list of soldiers from his battalion &
their history, but have found nothing so far. Guess I need to go back & pick up my search
for a death or burial record.

Prior to enlisting in Mar 1862, he had married, & conceived a daughter in Feb, who was born in Nov 1862. His wife remarried in 1865 (I think), so I know he didn't survive past that. I am just so hopeful that he made it home to Texas & saw his baby before he died!
