Kent I too have had a grt-grt-grdfather that founght in 25th Texas Cal.(3rd Texas Lancers) and the only McShan names I have been able to come up with were J. McShan in Co.A & G.W. McShan in Co. B. But that would not be unusual because most of these early fighters were conscripts and may have joined under different name. Unfortunely not was written on 24th & 25th but James M. McCaffrey's book "This Band of Heroes Grandbury's Texas Brigade,C.S.A." will give you a little history for them. My grt-grt-grdfather was in Co.I out of Liberty Co. so I can tell you what little is known about the 25th if you desire.
